2012.11.12 - Cantenna
This is the "chili can" antenna, a simple chili can with an chassis mount N connector and a 1/4 wavelength 'antenna' protruding into the center of the can. (a thick copper cable)
We mounted using some galvanized steel hardware from HomeDepot and ran the 7 foot RF cable from the cantenna, through the wall, to the Asus RT-N16 router mounted on the the other side of the wall.
The router on this side is the base, it is configured as a standard AP, connecting to the ISP on the WAN side using PPPoE, the router provides wireless access inside the house using WPA2-Personal encryption, with a hard wired thin-client, and a hard wired desktop PC.
