The ultimate SAML Thursday. Started the day with a weekly status meeting where I had to inform the team that after months of effort we were about ready to give up on our ADFS implementation and start looking at a more expensive paid solution as an option. There were concerns that the new POC would drag on like the current Microsoft solution had, kinda sucked but it wasn't for lack of trying.
Spent the rest of the day fixing some enrolment code, improving on some of my code, and implementing new HTML and Styles provided by our design firm. All this while reading up on the new PingFederate implementation and also working with Microsoft, our InfoSec and Infrastructure teams and our identity provider to try one last time to get ADFS implementation working.
Finally, at the end of the day we had a breakthrough. We jumped a few final hurdles and finally got end-to-end connectivity between our identity provider, through our ADFS server, and to our WSFed MVC application! Whooo-hoooo! Kicked some SAML arse today! FINALLY!!!! (Thank God!)
Sent a victory email and thanked everyone for their assistance and called it a day. Still lots to do but it was a major milestone for me.
Came home and hugged my sweetie, had a nice dinner with her and grabbed this gnome shot in the front yard.
Later,
D
