Darron Daily - 2012
2012.11.14 - Wednesday
I had a pretty good day today, got up and headed in to work by 8 AM. I got a visit by the information security team with questions about why I was trying to SSH out over port 443! Oops. I was trying to connect to my home router to reboot it and couln't connect over the standard port so I went to my backup port which is always open on corporate networks. Well, the security team noticed and wanted me to "esplain" myself. I did, hopefully that is the last time I meet them until the christmas party! Heh These guys are serious about information security, that's a good thing. I'll be on my best behavior from now on!
I got my VM environments set up and configured with a little help from Len. Met with Ana who gave us a demo of some of the existing online banking functionality and then we discussed the changes that will be needed. I ran home for lunch and to grab Robin's car but it took longer than expected as there was a Piper Cherokee that had made an emergency landing on the center divide on Highway 65. I made it home, swapped cars with Robin and got back to work in time.
I started stepping through code to get familiar with the parts of code that I will be working in, so far, so good. Got home and was too tired to run out to find a daily photo so I grabbed a few quick shots of my 1930 Concordant Literal New Testament and put them together in my new HDR software, made some tweaks and I'm calling it good.
Take care,
Darron
