Darron Daily - 2012
2012.11.09 (Friday)
Last day at RSI went well, I said goodbye to the few people I got the chance to work with. Everyone was nice about it.
His car is in the shop again so Robin and I ran the Mustang out to Brandon, we got to see his new place. From there we went to Old Sac and had dinner, there was live music, we ate outside and enjoyed the time together. It was very nice. After dinner we went back to the tower bridge so that I could try my hand at some HDR work. With the camera shooting in RAW I set up the tripod, composed my shot, and then grabbed the bracketed exposures before heading home.
Well, this is really my first HDR photo. I had issues with PhotoShop and Lightroom and outdated camera RAW plugins and so I had to search for some free online software. I tried one called Picturenaut that I didn't care for, then ended up downloading another called Luminance HDR. I still had trouble getting the tonemapping to look good but this is what I ended up with. I'll need to play around some more with the software I think. What to those of you out there in the Daily Community use for HDR software???? Any tips on speeding up the processing time?
It took a couple hours to process this one, I think Robin fell asleep waiting for me to finish posting my daily. Later!

on November 13, 2012WOW!! Awesome. And that's what it's all about right. I figure if one in about 15 is extraordinary we're doing well. Life just gets in the way. This one sure is impressive.

on November 11, 2012Excellent work; it does not take me anywhere nearly this long to process an HDR in Nik HDR PRO and Photoshop.
